Coaching negligence expert witness
What a reasonable coach does at that sport and level, from someone who has coached for more than twenty years.
Questions a coaching expert answers
- Supervision. Were players supervised the way that age and activity required?
- Drill design and progressions. Were drills appropriate for the players' age, size and skill, and were contact skills taught in a sensible order?
- Mismatches. Were players of very different size or experience put into contact drills together?
- Injury response. Did the coach remove a player showing signs of a head injury and follow the return-to-play procedure?
- Equipment checks. Did the coach make sure required protective equipment was worn and fit properly?
How engagement works
Ron works only through the attorney on the case. A first call covers the incident, the level of play and your deadlines, at no cost. Ron then reviews the records, gives a verbal assessment, writes a report if you want one, and testifies at deposition and trial in any state.
Common questions
What is the standard of care for a youth coach?
It depends on the sport, the age group and the governing body's rules and guidance. Ron explains what a reasonable coach at that level would have done, and counsel applies it to the law of the case.
